When on a Nikon holiday, there might be that one image that is THE shot of the entire trip. This is that shot from my very first trip to Oregon. Taken the morning after the first significant snowfall (ten inches plus) of the season (October 2014) at Crater Lake National Park. The snow was absolutely pristine that morning as in NO TRACKS, not even critter tracks, we could see along the rim of the caldera. Elevation around 7,000 feet. Average annual snowfall at the park is 533 inches. I especially like the shadows in the snow in the foreground of this shot. Had this image reproduced on canvass and in color; it was a house warming present to the couple who opened their house to myself and my travel companion that trip.
