I was into about an hour of serching along a river where I had been told a wolf pack had taken down an elk with no luck and was about to give up. Then, I noticed the ravens. The carcass had been pulled into tall grass and couldn't be seen but the ravens gave it away. I positioned myself more than 100 yards away on the oposite side of the river from it and waited for the wolves to return. About three and a half hours later, this handsome one finally showed. I'm sure it knew I was there because it looked right at me. It didn't seem to be bothered by my presence. It contiuned with its meal then wandered off. Patience and persistance often pays big dividends. How lucky was I that the wolf showed and not a grizzly!
