Went somewhere the other day and saw these red flowers by a parking lot. I returned later on with my camera. The red flowers on the bush were really popping due to a cloudy sky so I was able to get the full rich redness of the flower. I used Black in processing to deepen the color as I wanted. Nikon D850 and the Nikon macro 105mm. I took various shots with two different cameras. On the third shot, in PS, I put a layer behind the flower to give it a painterly look as I like to do that at times.

Well done. Red can be a harder color to photograph as it has a tendency to oversaturate the sensor if you are not careful on capture. I found the ispecially true underwater but also with some of the more intense red blooms.

Yes, I agree with that statement, you can also throw yellow and orange in that same category. It was a cloudy day with only a small degree of light coming through so the red flowers were very naturally saturated. Could still be difficult if I ever printed it. I'd use LrC proof print and actually print a small proof...it is easy to blow out red. I did check the red tone curve to ensure nothing was blown out. Always a challenge.
