To coat or not to coat...

To coat or not to coat? That is the question.
I have been back and forth over the years about getting some of my lenses dressed with Lenscoat. It seems like every winter that I wish my telephoto lenses had them to keep the cold off my hands. Even in the summer I find the hood getting very hot. I think I know all the pros to them but what about the cons? Has anyone had problems with having them on your lenses? Any thoughts good or bad are appreciated.
