There was a lot of activity in the backyard today. The Blue Jay had to show off his prize, and the Ruby-crowned Kinglet gave me "The Stare".

Beautiful I would love to see those little ones. I am sure you are also waiting to see the new "bird" Subject detection in the Z8.

Soon it will be white with snow and you get the polar bears and snow chickens and can fish out the snowmobile. 😂 😂

Very nice
Thanks, Patrick

Nice series
Thank you, Charles

Excellent series, Koos!
Thanks, Lance.

The Kinglets remind me of the Cape White-eye or the Blousysie. Kinglets are probably smaller, though. I think they may be our smallest bird after the Ruby-throated Hummingbird.

Snow - don't remind me. No snowmobile, but I will have to break out the snowblower and get the snow tires fitted on the cars. Four wheel or all-wheel drive is one's friend here in winter. :) This may sound crazy, but I've never seen a live polar bear here since they live far to the north. Churchill in Manitoba is famous for polar bear viewing, but I can't even drive there from here. Looks like there is not a continuous road to get me there. 2,000 km by air as the crow flies, but it seems there are no direct flights there from Toronto.

I am ragging you -
Ya I read up on Churchill just last week!
Seems you can only go by plane or train but definitely not by car. That leaves Svalbard....
Probably cheaper to rent a polar bear movie

Nice shots Koos!
Thanks, Ira. With bird life starting to wind down here up north with winter coming, I'm starting to look forward to spending some time down in Florida again early 2024. I hope to have more time to myself then for photography compared to the last time.
