I can't thank you enough for this latest video!

Very useful tips and had me checking several of my settings! One thing, I ran into the framing grid issue a few weeks ago and found an easier way to turn it on and off. You can simply map it to a button! On the Z8 and Z9 I've set Framing Grid on/off to the BKT button but you can use your button of choice. (I have my DISP button set to something else so I can't cycle through displays--but I don't find I need to in shooting, I can still cycle through for playback.)

I think I have that one listed in the book (not so much as a troubleshooting option, but as a general option). For me, since I change displays, I don't use it, but it's nice to have options :)

This might be your best video to date. I found that I had problems I didn’t know I had in 9 or 10 of the 12 you address. The biggest takeaway from this exercise is it seems like Nikon has gradually complicated its menu almost to the point of Sony A6500 nonsense. It just shouldn’t be that difficult to display a histogram. A simple on/off switch like in earlier models would be welcome. As I ranted when I first got mt Z8, this body is really a super complex computer that happens to take photographs. I understand that the new tech offers users the ability to fine tune adjustments to the nth degree, but I’m just too old to absorb this stuff. There are so many function buttons on this camera that after setting them up, I can’t remember which one does what which effectively defeats the purpose of quick access function buttons for old coots like me who aren’t as mentally agile and

thank you for this video. One question I have is why my focus point will randomly move. Many times up to the right handcorner. I have sort of gotten used to it and now know why it won’t focus but it would be really nice if it didn’t do it. I don’t think I am touching the joy stick. Does anyone else have this problem? Oh I have the 6iii

1) Which autofocus area are you using?
2) Is subject detection turned on?

Knowing the answers will help others understand what’s happening and offer advice.

You're either hitting the joystick, or you're moving it from the back screen.
