Tucson Sonoran Desert...Bajada road

Tucson is a wonderful place to visit on the shoulder seasons, otherwise it's just too hot (IMHO). There is a 4WD trail known as the Bajada road that takes one to some amazing places with equally amazing scenery. This was taken at the southern end of the road right after a winter rain storm. I think B&W conveys the majesty and mystery of the Sonoran desert...

Well done. I was out there in my film days, always used a deep red filter on B&W film. I remember the Bajada Loop road as being accessable to regular passenger cars. Not sure if that has changed though I do think that might have been where the right side mount of the dashboard in the rental car broke......

Thank you Warren. Parts of the track are certainly ok for 2WD vehicles but over the years it has become quite rutted with deep sand in places. It's one of those desert drives where everything is going great...till it's not. I'm too much of a Boy Scout to venture out on these tracks unprepared for the worst, especially if I've never been on it before.

Thank you
When I was a youngster growing up in the Sonoran desert we would always have to go for a ride to see Saguaro cactus every time we had family come in from out of state. It was very boring when we were kids now that I am grown and live in the PNW I totally appreciate it. Great photo
