Very nice shots Howard, crystal clear. --- Might I suggest you look up some images of the Gulf Fritillary, as I rather think this is one of them rather than a Monarch. All the Monarchs and their mimics have a black body with white spots whilst this butterfly has an orange body with a white stripe and is found the southern US states. I know diddly about butterflies; I only knew the Skipper because someone else posted a photo yesterday.
