The Kalahari is essentially a semi desert, with little rain. This tree is ± 20 km from Tweer Rivieren Restcamp on the Nossob road. It may be one of the most photographed trees in our part of the globe. It is a huge camelthorn tree with a massive sociable weaver nest in it. These images were taken in Januarie 2021 and Januarie 2023, two years and three days apart. The one shows a "winter" scene, the other a "summer scene". Both however is in the summer. These images show what the Kalahari can look like. I have another image of this tree, taken in October 2023, not yet processed, where there is virtually no vegetation anywhere except for the tree.
Both images are composites of two horizontal images merged to pano.
