This bear was foraging along the coast of Barkley Sound on Vancouver Island late in the evening, turning over rocks to snack on crabs and fish at low tide. It stopped for just a few seconds to take a look at the Zodiac in the water just offshore.
I don’t generally post about gear, but I thought these two images did a good job demonstrating the capabilities of the Nikon Z 400mm VR TC S and it’s integrated teleconverter.
These two images were captured in less than two seconds. I shot a burst of the bear at 400mm (the second image) and then engaged the teleconverter and shot a second burst at 560mm. I cropped the second image to change the aspect ratio only.
