A few of the photos from the Ultimate Loons workshop given by Connor Stephanison and Jesse Findlay. Even with the wind storm that knocked out power from the house and unfortunately knocked down trees with nests, it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Both Connor and Jesse are very helpful and informative. I now know when to use the complete manual setting on my camera and why.
I'm looking forward to taking the workshop again!

I have seen a lot of photo workshops advertised, but never one focused specifically on loons! I guess there is a market for everything. Glad you had an enjoyable time. Good shots, especially the first one with the chicks on its back.

Beautiful shots! Well done👍👍👍

Awesome shots! I leave tomorrow for the same workshop!!!!! How were the temps? Pretty cool?

What advice on lenses? Worth taking a 600mm TC f4? Did you use a monopod?

It was cold in the morning especially seating in the blind. I believe it will be warmer in the coming week. I used my Z180-600 mm lens. You can definitely use 600 mm for the small birds but a zoom would be useful for loons. Love to see your photos when you return:)

I did use a monopod but other than one other person, everyone had a tripod.
Thank you! I'm taking my 100-400, the 400 f4.5, Z1.4 TC and the 600mm TC. And tripod AND monopod. Is the monopod necessary?
