Using a Drop-In UV filter for rear element protection?

I was shooting my 800PF in the rain and when switching lenses, was getting a bit worried about rain getting into the lens from the mount. The front element I'm not worried about (surprisingly not even that expensive to replace if it gets damaged), but the rear element on the 800PF is so far inside, I'm not sure I'd be able to adequately clean it if it got stained from water droplets.

Thoughts? I normally use UV filters on my lenses for work (Commerical food and advertising) because cooking greases and acids just destroy front elements, but on my telephotos I've never bothered.

When it's attached to a body, yes it's sealed. I've used it in the rain, it's pretty unphased in that.
It's more of when I'm changing lenses in lousy weather. Take the camera off, that rear of the barrel is open to the outside world. Thinking lens is tipped down, with the open rear element up at the sky..

Thinking of picking up one of these Zeiss Filters, screwing it in, calling it a day.
