I have an SB-400 which is a fantastic small speedlight flash Nikon made. I'm wondering if there is any way to incorporate this into a multi-flash setup or if I'm restricted to using it alone. The obvious issue is the speedlight sits on top of the camera, which is where your wireless trigger would also go, so I don't see how to fire multiple flashes this way.
I'm mostly using Flashpoint strobes (and the Flashpoint RF wireless triggers to fire them) which may raise other problems combining Nikon and Flashpoint/Godox brands.
(I also have Yuoungno "Slave" flashes which fire when they visually sense a strobe firing so these should work with any system)
Is there any way to use multiple flashes (other than dumb slave units) with the SB-400, or are you restricted to only using the SB-400 alone (perhaps one reason it was discontinued... it is a very nice flash for its size, but it can be limiting for anything other than fill flash or bouncing off the ceiling as a secondary light).
Just curious my options before I list this one for sale. I might keep it as a sort of superpowered on camera flash that the Z9 doesn't have, for the few times when I would normally pop up the on-body flash It's actually quite nice when you bounce it on a wall or ceiling.
