For BIF hand holding D500 w/ 500 mm f 5.4 PF at shutter speeds above 1000/sec should VR Sport be on or off? What effect will it have either on or off?

I'd shut it off. On the 500PF I don't think it makes much of a difference anyway (I've not noticed a drop in acuity with VR on t higher speeds) but at 1/1000th + shutter speed is doing far more for getting you a sharp image than VR is. Especially BIF panning (VR is only working in the opposite direction of the pan).
