Using VR at high shutter speeds

I'd shut it off. On the 500PF I don't think it makes much of a difference anyway (I've not noticed a drop in acuity with VR on t higher speeds) but at 1/1000th + shutter speed is doing far more for getting you a sharp image than VR is. Especially BIF panning (VR is only working in the opposite direction of the pan).
