Verreaux's Eagle, aka Black Eagle. These images are from the Walter Sisulu Botanical Gardens in Roodepoort, Gauteng.
The new chick hatched in May and flew last week for the first time. I have not been back again, Last visit she was exercising her wings on a rock adjacent to the nest.
They get harassed by the Pied Crows and peregrine falcons.
Some recent mages taken about a month ago.
