Even more creepy, to watch it s-l-o-w-l-y pivot towards prey, a lot like a praying mantis (without that jerky motion).It's like the jaws of a trap.

I thought it’s a toss between that or a flower crab spider. I’ve seen references to either with images yellow or white with really similar abdomens. I have shots of both colors on goldenrod and common fleabane.Looks like a goldenrod crab spider, but it's really pale.

Considering that pretty much every capture photo on a flower you see, the prey went in head first, scary indeed.Up close they look a bit scary, like composition and colors
