Even more creepy, to watch it s-l-o-w-l-y pivot towards prey, a lot like a praying mantis (without that jerky motion).

I thought it’s a toss between that or a flower crab spider. I’ve seen references to either with images yellow or white with really similar abdomens. I have shots of both colors on goldenrod and common fleabane.

edit: Woody, I’ve had a bunch of bookmarks of these for a while. Curious, I followed a few more links. A few refer to them as the same. Trying to stick with collegiate links, it gets even more ambiguous. Since the goldenrod crab can change color, it’s a wash.
Goldenrod works for me.
