Thanks. It sure was a great place for a walk.Nice, looks like a great place for a walk/hike.
10 months of the year it is open for traffic. In April/may and Sept/Oct for a total of about 8 weeks the road is closed to allow the snakes to migrate the road is closed. It is in Shawnee National Forest. Larue-Pine Hills (snake road). Off of Illinois Route 3. It is a beautiful place. Not really a "secret" just not heavily traveled. We were the only people on this walk that morning. We saw a couple people as we were heading back to the car. About a 5 mile hike / walk.Nice shot. I'd love to ride my motorcycle through there.
It reminds me of the fire roads in Suches, Georgia. Would be a joy to ride on.10 months of the year it is open for traffic. I've never driven on this stretch but it sure is a peaceful stretch of gravel road to walk along. I bet it would be a nice place to ride!It reminds me of the fire roads in Suches, Georgia. Would be a joy to ride on.
