Christmas 2009, We were driving along the Auob road early in the morning, seeking a cheetah mom and two teenage cubs that were resident in the area. (They killed a sprinbok lamb that morning and those photographs went viral over the net at the time. The reason I mention it is because we missed the kill and action because these guys caught our eye). These Bat-eared Foxes, Otocyon megalotis, are extremely cute and puppies are not so regularly seen too. When we caught sight of them, far from the road on the sunrise side, it was only the parent. I poked the hired 600 f/4 through the window to see what was moving and then saw the cubs getting out of the den and drinking on mom. They got back in the den and then one by one, popped out and lined up like this, fierce little puppies ~ D300S; 600 F/4 + 2XTC; F/8; 1/400; ISO 800

Looks like you got their attention Callie. Nice shot!

Great shot Callie. I love the way they are all in focus. Where do you think your "go to" focus point would have been? 2nd right pup?
Dave, Light was so bad, I could scarcely pick them up. You know what the Kalahari is in December when the sun comes over the escarpment. And the 600 was on a beanbag on the window. I think it was potluck, but the 2nd, fierce looking one behind mom was it, I think.

Now where did I stick that bloody thesaurus. Gorgeous will do for want of a fancier word. I think when I get my new motherboard and back to having two monitors, I am going to save that thesaurus as a PDF and have it open on the 2nd monitor.
