The trip into the south west today reached the Weld River but on the way there and back the following orchids were sighted.

Looks very much like you had a successful trip. Good stuff.
Yes it was very successful, saw many hundreds of Thelymitra sun orchids as well as other orchid types in full flower, some spiders etc.
Also being in a beautiful, in parts wild and pretty remote part of the world.

Unknown, could it be Thelymitra aristata ? Just pale form.
Not according to one of Tasmania's pre-eminent orchid experts who was on the trip that day, but good suggestion, the structure of the column is not the same as aristata.
I must contact him to see if there has been an identity attributed to the plant.

This is a Thelymitra aristata as I know it, note the column.
