Came across this very patient Western Toad yesterday in a small reedy stream. Wasn't carrying a macro lens but this is about the size of subject where the 300mm PF with a 1.7x TC really shines. After a few wider shots, decided to switch the Z9 to DX crop mode for a tight portrait. A circular polarizer helped take most of the glare off the water.
