#1 seems to be a new feline species with a proboscis type chest feeler. it is able to hover using it rudder-like tail and the proboscis.
# 2 reminds me a bit of Scrat, the sabre tooth ice age squirrel.

I have no idea on #1, but Marc's guess seems reasonable.
I did see #2 as a croc, prior to scrolling down. This was obvious due to viewing your other croc image, that actually looked like a croc. ;-)

Marc hit it, but Marc, you do not count due to your exposure to Africa and its denizens! Sure you have similar! But well done, the hippo really catch a lot of people!
If you want to see the animals, just rotate the images 90 deg or cover half the image with your hand.
