Nice shot of difficult to photograph bird. What was your approximate distance? Approximately how much did you crop (if any)?

Yes I did crop but can't remember how much. My est. on distance would be 20-25 ft. Thanks for the compliment.
Nice shot and pose. To me this needs darker blacks and/or more contrast. Maybe lower the yellows in the background. Overall it's a great shot. Nice job.
I would agree with Woodyg3 as my first thought, after recognizing that it was a nice shot, was a lack of contrast.
Just my opinion, good subject separation but a bit over exposure on the bird and maybe even a bit of a color cast on the bird.
