I probably have gathered 10k+ Pelican images over the years, but I still get excited when I see these guys for the 1st time during any given season.

They are like B-52's & are beautiful.

Absolutely awesome images.

With 10k of images, have you ever thought of digging up one of your very first images and re-taking that shot to compare what was then and what is now?

These are great! That super closeup shot has amazing detail.(y)

You are welcoming the big white guys back to Texas as we are sadly saying goodbye up here in Colorado. Pelicans are the birds that got me interested in serious wildlife photography, and I'll always have a soft spot in my heart for them. Great shots!

And as "Little Red Swimming Fish" said to the pelican, "Oh my, what a big mouth you have".

Lol! Little Red would be correct in this instance.

All very nice, showing nice detail in the white. :)

Thanks again Icarus. Because these guys are so big and calm, they make it quite easy. Nonetheless, I really enjoy them.

Beautiful Phil!

Thank you, Sir!

I appreciate it, Hut. When the Baby Z can get locked on, it's pretty darn good.

Wonderful series Phil

Thank so much, Kathy.

Just a splendid series. Which pelican is this? American White Pelican, the one that gets the growth on the bill?

Appreciated, as always Callie. Yes, these are the American Whites. Along most of our coastal areas the Brown Pelicans seem to be more previlant, but there are some White Pelicans there too.

Yes indeed. We will take good care of them for the winter. They really seem to enjoy this lake and particuarrly this cove. It's where they've been hanging out (in the winters) for quite some time.
