White-tailed Kite

Just back from Bosque del Apache, always different but always special, on this trip I found something new for me what I believe to be a White-tailed Kite. Great looking raptor just wish it would have come a lot closer for these two shots.

Congratulations! Wonderful shots. We are at Bosque now, but haven’t seen the Kites. Was this bird to the north of the Flight Deck? That is where I have heard another person saw two of them. Again, congrats!

Hi Woody and thanks very much. I found this one and it's mate on the extended North Loop about halfway through the loop.

Thanks. We have been here 5 times now, and have always found the north loop to be productive. Javalina, deer, and a good assortment of birds. I wish there were more cranes, but I’ve gotten some nice shots despite their relatively low numbers. So far not a lot of good light. Tomorrow is supposed to be sunny. I look forward to seeing more of your shots.

Woody, a suggestion go up to Bernardo in the evening, the shooting can be superb, that is where I went.
