Nice captures. đź‘Ťđź‘Ť They use to be very common in the wild on the east coast of the US when I was a kid but unfortunate the only ones you see these days are stocked birds.
 
Thanks Ralph. They're not a UK native bird, but introduced from Asia somewhere, China or perhaps India. They were brought here, possibly by the Romans.
