Wildies

West of Sundre Alberta at the foot of the Rockies. Since horses aren't native to North America, technically, these are feral horses, not wildies. Most of these animals are descendents of strays from the native Stoney reservation to the south, a few from ranch stock. But they've been breeding wild and fending for themselves for 100 years or more, periodically adding new strays to the herds.

Beautiful set! I particularly love the first one. Fun fact: horses actually originated in North America millions of years ago, but died out around 10,000 years ago before being reintroduced by the Europeans.
