I often think if the early settlers here in SA encountered the impala before the springbok, the impala might have been named springbok. The two species can both jump, but the springbok is sort of jumping vertically up and then forward. It is also the pronking action of hopping on stiff legs that contribute to the name. The impala seems to fly when on the go. Some images from Kruger.
Early morning, slow ss, bit of PS playing

Wonderful capture of these lovely animals.
Happy trails Callie.

Outstanding set of images!
Thank you, Karen! Not so hard to shoot, so hard to actually see it. By the time you have stopped the car, they are either gone or have stopped jumping!
Wonderful shots Callie
Thanks, Ira
Ok, well then, they could've named them Ferraris. 😏 😉
Kirk, yea, but they were mixed Dutchmen and French for the most part, they did not know about prancing horses!😇;)
Wonderful capture of these lovely animals.
Happy trails Callie.
Thank you Paul!
