Taken in the garden a couple of weeks ago, I was trying to photograph the small birds and she gate crashed.

i Haven’t cropped the image, the woodpecker was so close, I didn’t have a chance to zoom out. I wish I did as to get a better composition, however sometimes you take what you are given

It’s a Great Spotted Woodpecker, this is a female, as it has a black head, the male has a red patch on the back of the head. Last spring we had the male, female and juvenile visiting the garden.
