This afternoon I watched a pair of Yellow Wattlebirds (endemic) busily providing food for 3 chicks that they have in a nest just over the back fence.
Not sure what actually is being offered, it looks quite varied, both birds seemed to display to me what food was in their beaks just before moving to the nest.
Not the case of the first image that shows its feathery tongue.
