Reference Manual pg 127
Here we read the official statements of fps in Z 6II. The degree of EVF blackout still to be tested. A quick read through the options [pp 409-421] to assign Custom Controls to Fn1, Fn2 etc confirms the disappointing failure by Nikon. They continue to ignore requests to include options to assign AFOn + AF Mode. Yet a camera of this price is advertised to be designed to shoot action scenes etc (judging from several of Nikon's marketing videos).
This strange stubbornness could cost Nikon more than any trivial savings and/or whatever comfort from living in a past of idealistic rankings of camera models as only Enthusiast etc. Such are the costs and impacts of petty bureaucracy. So for some of us it is back to waiting Firmware updates or more likely the rumoured Z MILC. In many other respects, this camera should please photographers across most genres

I downloaded the Z6II manual this morning and the FPS rate on pg 127 is the first thing i checked too...and then the custom control options LoL...and...more... just to see if there was some hidden surprise (s)...
Yup, looked at that page too and was happy I also have a Sony a9ii since it looks like it's going to remain my primary mirrorless camera. Even if blackout is shorter in the 5.5 FPS mode, it's still 5.5 FPS and lagging well behind the competition. I have a feeling CH extended is going to be identical to what we experience now.
