Z6ii animal eye detection?? How to enable eye detection?

If you would like to post, you'll need to register. Note that if you have a BCG store account, you'll need a new, separate account here (we keep the two sites separate for security purposes).

So I can set the face detection and the animal detection function on the Z6ii when shooting stills, no problem. What I can't seem to figure out is how to activate the "eye 👁 detection" in either AF mode. I've just been trying it out on my black lab, she has grey around her eyes. I've done this with her running around as well as just laying around, with her eyes open and easy to see. 👀 Easy for me anyway.
Any help appreciated!😵

The camera needs to be in auto area AF or the wide mode with animal af. Make sure you are close enough too.
I must have some other setting enabled/disabled. I've tried all the modes including what you mentioned. I've practically filled the frame with her face as well as yards away, running and sitting still. I just do not seem to get the "small" focus spot indication it's tracking or even just focusing on her her. Tried it with a stuffed animal too in case it had to do with my dogs eye color and here being black...and some grey. I thought also maybe it didn't work with BBF but not the case.

Figured out after running some YouTube vids of dogs and trying to focus on them that my dog and her toys don't have eyes that are high enough contrast to be able to pick them up and track. Problem solved. Now I have to go out and get another dog! Hope it can pick out coyotes, fox and wolves this winter.
