Z9 Monitor Mode/Live View

I cannot get any clarity on this one issue I am having with my new Z9. I am used to my D850 having a menu, playback, live view, display and info buttons to be able to use the back LCD Monitor. On the Z9 – playback, menu, DISP and a monitor mode button. I figured out that the monitor mode button allows me to go between EVF only, monitor only, auto switching between EVF/Monitor or prioritize EVF 1&2. All pretty confusing for me. But I have been using prioritize EVF 2.

Now the problems, when I bring up the Monitor Shooting Display in the EVF I can scroll through the 4 displays I set up, if I take my I eye away and want to view on the LCD, push DISP, it brings up the photo shooting information, but it won’t allow me to scroll to the other 3 display screens.

Now the other confusing issue, I see there is no live view button, so when I am on a tripod composing a landscape, do I have to go into the monitor mode and activate monitor only to get into “Live View”? If not won’t the monitor time out?

You have to setup your d18 custom monitor shooting display selections to match your d19 custom viewfinder shooting display selections if want the same available displays for your EVF and your back monitor. And remember each bank will have its own set that you will need to change.

You can avoid having your monitor time out by a) changing your c3 Power Off Delay settings or by b) continuing to manipulate buttons and dials while composing your scene.
