Z9 type B card for movies

If you would like to post, you'll need to register. Note that if you have a BCG store account, you'll need a new, separate account here (we keep the two sites separate for security purposes).

I'm aware of taking movies but it's only occasionally I'm looking at getting a card for this. Due to my budget constraints, I'm down Angelbird SE, but this means another reader or Prograde Gold which I have a reader for.
Has anyone tried the Prograde Gold for movies? I realize it would not support the top formats.
I'm going to N.Z to Mt Cook for Astro/Landscape so I thought I'd go prepared.

Any Cfexpress card reader should work with any CFexpress card. Lots of people report problems with the Angelbird CFexpress cards. For the investment in your trip I would buy a known to be reliable CFexpress card like the Prograde Cobalt and Delkin Black and then no worries about frame rate or video capture options. Inexpensive SSD drives at 1TB for $60 can be used to backup a CFexpress card at night for reuse the following day.

The best resource I've found so far is this one:

This suggests the NEW Prograde Gold 2.0 performs very, very well. However, 1) be careful, for whatever reason they didn't change the name from the Prograde Gold which performed very poorly. 2) they might not be obtainable yet, 3) it almost seems too good to be true

AFAIK, you need a card that can sustain at least 400MB/s.

But personally, I wouldn't mess with anything on that chart below the Delkin Prime. While there is a new Lexar Pro "Diamond" on that list, the old Lexar Pros (on the right side) were notorious for getting very hot.

You might take a peek at the Sabrent Rocket, this seems like a reasonable priced card with reasonable performance.

Yes, I have two Prograde Cobalt 325s. They would do the job but in Aus is $630 for another. I am strongly leaning that way

Nice. This is a big help. some I have seen seem to be biased.

when looking at reviews, if all their benchmarks are below 1000MB/s, they probably have a flawed test. turns out most readers are not capable of the full bandwidth of the cards. the ssd review is one of the few i’ve seen that seems credible
