I turned the Fairytale slider up to 11 on this, channeling a slice of Albert Dros, but hope you all still like it

Literally! heheFantastic!
Thank you, Warren!Well done!
Thank you, Charles - Not having heard this word in this sort of context, I had to resort to three pages deep in Urban Dictionary to ferret it outVery Skippy!
Thanks, John, and glad you made it safely, and have fond memories of the experience. I don't think climbing is allowed any longer - we were hesitant to go very far into the land as we knew it was a sacred place. Cheers!Great picture. Rekindles the memory of climbing Shiprock many years ago and rappelling the shear vertical west side in the setting sun.
Thank you, Tom! It's hard to go wrong touring the southwest. We always seem to do it on too tight a schedule, and wish we'd spent twice the amount of time in just about every spot hahaBeautiful shot! I need to retire and get out more!
Thank you Mr. Tape! Glad you got to see it - amazing place, and definitely surreal/magical imo. Imma (tm) that slider I think! hahaFun. We were wandering in the dessert a few weeks ago and I finally saw Shiprock for the first time. Beautiful, a bit surreal place. Certainly worth the 11 on the fairytale slider.

Thank you, Kurt - so many cool locations out that way, it's hard to choose!I love the lighting. Add another destination to list.
Yes, thanks John, I had put that in my description over on Flickr, but I don't know the full origin story there. I tend to put more info/backstory over there, and then link to it rather than putting up the reams of (boring? text I sometimes write here (and other places). Downside is viewers have to click through; Upside is higher res for viewers + more presentation control to see it as I intended (fb is particularly notorious for altering images - seems to always crops my work).Yes. I think Shiprock consists of the remnants of the bird that brought the ancestors to their homeland in the Four Corners area.
