Biff, I can’t find anywhere documenting that they are still being used & they didn’t appear to be when we were there. According to one article, a history of St George, they report these as the last remaining wooden “silos” in Kansas. I believe there are some old wooden elevators still standing, I highly doubt in use, but I haven’t seen any others of this nature. So they’re pretty unique. We have found a few more of the tile grain elevators in Kansas & another in Oklahoma that I posted a picture of a few weeks ago. As I have researched a bit more on those, they are fairly rare, but there are some still standing & one we found in Eudora, about 30 miles east of where we live, supposedly is being still used for storage of some kind, but when we saw it a couple of weeks ago, I don’t know how & no one was around to ask. Interesting structures, at least I think so. Thanks. Bill
