Thought so. The warm light on the bird didn't match with the bright blue sky and the light on the wood................
Wow, you inspected with a fine-tooth comb. I'm guessing that you don't approve of replacing skies. BTW, if I was interested in your critique, I would have placed the photo in the critique section.

No I didn't inspect it with a fine-tooth comb. I simply looked at it. I didn't offer a critique, just said...."...it looks like a composite...."

No need to be defensive, but full disclosure is appreciated.

The very first thing I saw was the replaced sky... something didn't look quite right. I replace skies sometimes and I'm not an expert at this so mine look "off" a bit also. I think MattK has some good videos on using this feature... time for me to review. I'm not knocking your photo because I think it is quite striking. I've never seen a Harris's Hawk, let alone such a great shot of one.

I got "carried away" with the deep blue sky and was too quick to post. Yea, it's easy to see my problem. I'm going to redo my edit and repost. Matt is excellent instructor.

Let's see how this "plays"

Great action photo. Almost feels if it was taken with a wide angle.

The issue is the out of focus area‘s in the sky don’t look right, as bird with 600 f4. Sky was likely taken with a 24mm at f11.

Here is a video by Scott Keys on the subject, but he feels strongly against doing it. At around the 6:30 mark he shows how it should look if better blended for the differences in focal length. For me, it is ok, as long as feels natural and is disclosed.

Personally, I am glad you did. Beautiful image and I learned about the need for full disclosure when posting on a photo expert forum. I am so far from being an expert and I have so much to learn. This place is wonderful.

Wonderful image, but it's quite obvious this is a sky replacement and agree with @Butlerkid.

Don't get me wrong.......I have no issues with composites such as sky replacements but agree with others above it should be stated in the initial post.

Spectacular shot of the Hawk, It would be great to see the shot before the sky was replaced. I'm sure it would be a very good shot on its own.
