These are a few of my favorites from this year, more so because of the experience of capturing them than being the best overall photos. I really enjoyed seeing all the great photos everyone posted so far.

Pair of Painted Buntings at Circle B Bar. What started off slow turned into a good day.

Same day as above, came across this new sandhill crane family. I think this day will be difficult to beat.

My first wild badger encounter, Badlands National Park in September. It stayed around for about 20 minutes so I was able to get some video and photos.

Big Horn Ram in Custer State Park. There was actually a group of them all standing together on this rock. After getting off a couple shots, they ran down stood on some flat ground about 30 feet away, but I much prefer this photo.

Earlier this month I had my first opportunity to swim with Sea Turtles in USVI. I haven't used this camera for a while so it was a struggle trying to figure out how to change settings in the underwater housing.

Great shots. I lived in Lakeland, where Circle B is, up until last year. Hadn't gone for a while though.

I was hesitant to add images to this amazing thread but it inspired me to look through the rejects - I'm inclined to pick one or two, work them every which way and to ignore the others . This is a selection of pics from a variety of National Parks in South Africa - hopefully they'll inspire people to visit :)

Red Wolf

Only 19-21 left in the wild and the eastern coast of the Carolinas is the home of these rare animals. It was a privilege to see & photograph them at a distance in the wild.
Not many will ever see these guys in the wild, so I wanted to share.
