I got this one in the Langebaan area on the Cape West Coast in November 2012. The only image I have of of one of these. Shot with a Nikon D7000 with a relatively poor copy of the Sigma 150-500mm lens.

Rassie - thats a juvenile - beautiful photo, and really good for 2012. I have never seen a juvenile.
Don't you have a yellow billed kite? I have never managed a decent photo of them

Sorry, Elsa. This is the only image of any type of kite that I ever managed to get. I am hoping that on one of my trips down to Florida in the USA in the near future, I will be able to get an image of a snail kite. Those kites live mainly on large snails that they catch in the marshes. There might be an image of one of those on Backcountry Gallery Forums, otherwise Google will also help.

If you can get to the areas where they roost (mostly very remote areas) you can see some of them come down for a drink before their
