View attachment 73809In September I went to Kenia, specially for night photography from a hide
You go in the hide from 6pm till 6am.
What an experience, with a lot of patience.
This is my favorite photo I took there
4 of them are wondering if there is maybe a meal in that hide. Did they hear a camera noise? Did they detect a rustle of clothing? Did they notice a human aroma wafting across the water? Are there iron bars on the hide? Are they laughing that, at this zoo, it is the human in the cage? 🤣🤣 All my questions are in fun— the bottom line is this is one of the most beautiful wildlife images I've ever had the opportunity to enjoy❗ Thanks for sharing.

That’s a fabulous shot. It reminds me of a famous shot taken by Greg du Toit, WWL photographer of the year winner. His was taken at daytime but it took him over 200 days sitting in a waterhole to get it! I recommend his book Wilderness Dreaming, the story of his love of the bush and how he became a photographer.
As a matter of curiosity, where were you in Kenya?

The photo of elephants that won him the WW Photographer of the Year Award was taken at Mashatu but the one of the lionesses drinking was in Shompole in the Rift Valley. I can strongly recommend his book Wilderness Dreaming. I am hoping to go to Mashatu in the future. We did a photo safari with Greg in Amboselli and Maasai Mara. Amazing guy and I have never come across anyone who loves the bush more.
