I think it's just a fluke that I ended up capturing the face-to-face confrontation between heron and bug but some luck doesn't hurt now and then.
Of course if the heron had its beak open to get the bug then it would be a winning shot - as it is, it's just a fun stand-off

Its cousin then proceeded to catch a crab.
You can tell it's his cousin because he is not wearing the fancy white string on his head ;)

I love Little Blue Herons - they are stunning birds and so active, they are fun to watch.
