    800mm PF for Tropical Birds

I'm panning a trip to Brazil this fall and wondering if anyone has experience shooting birds with the Nikon 800mm PF in the Pantanal or the Atlantic Rain Forest? Specifically, is it worth renting and carrying as a supplement to the 180-600mm? Would there be problems with atmospheric...

It’s 5:50 PM and there's hardly any light left. Speed 1/250, f4 and ISO 12 800. The upper limit I set for ISO is reached. I see the light decreasing more and more in the viewfinder. The scene is interesting, so I still trigger. Development software will correct noise. I did not overcorrect the...

The neotropic cormorant and its fish. A bloody end.

It is well known that cormorants love fish. Above all, they take all the time necessary for the prey to be well oriented before swallowing it. Seen from the outside it looks like a game. Not sure the fish think the same... The red color in the beak is the fish’s blood.
