Not really a landscape photographer, but since no bird activity was happening (waiting for some peregrine falcons to appear), got bored and took this shot of the view directly below me. Was fascinated by the rock column on the lower right.

The pairs of great crested grebes on the former quarry pond are currently in the nest-building phase and are not at all enthusiastic when a rival tries to interfere. There can be fierce fighting.

I’m not sure what to say about this other than I really like the shape. It almost resembles a cartoon character waving its paw, or of course just some water!
