This one is in good shape. I occasionally see them around here in daytime during winter. I got a few pictures on two occasions and in both cases the tips of the ears look bad, probably due to frostbite.
 
Nice photos. They're interesting animals; the average lifespan is two years and we often see them with all or part of the tail missing as well as large chunks of their ears -- severe frostbite does that.

beautiful little animal

Can't say I've ever seen or heard them described as beautiful before, although that one is as nice looking as they get.
