According to Wikipedia, a sundog is an atmospheric phenomenon that creates bright spots of light in the sky, often on a luminous ring or halo on either side of the sun. Rain is often predicted at the sight of a sundog. Here is some info on this phenomenon … full circle around sun in 22° Solar halo. The secondary quarter circle or rainbow is called a circumzenithal arc. I was at work when this sundog appeared. Have never seen it before or since. I think the image can do with some rework as I fixed it moons ago. D3S; 16 - 35 f/4 @ 16 mm; F/16; 1/8000; ISO 200; -3.3 EV.
