An exciting first for me

Until yesterday, in all my years of living in Ontario I'd never seen an Orchard Oriole before.
I was at a reservoir near my home when this guy flew into a nearby tree.
Very harsh mid-afternoon sun and the bird was far away, necessitating a very heavy crop. Not many folks have posted images of mature males on BCG before. I ran a quick search and found only about 5 or 6 posts, 2 or 3 showing a mature male. This seems to be a relatively scarce bird.

Nice! They're fairly common here but tough to get a photo of. There are maybe 5-6 of them at a local abandoned golf course. Overall though I'd say they're pretty scarce with a population of ~10 million.
