Used it with an iPhone 14 to trigger my Z9. No problems. Used the bluetooth connection.
Thanks. Missed it earlier.See my post above![]()
My experiences exactly ..Mixed feelings.
1) In camera turn airplane mode OFF and connect to smart device.
2) Go to Wifi on iPhone and wait for the camera to appear, I select it and wait for it to switch.
3) launch SnapBridge, after 10 seconds of initializing, its prompting to connect to wifi and offers instructions
4) Go back to Wifi settings and found the Wifi jumped back to my home WiFi. A quick look on the camera and connecting to smart device is OFF on it’s own.
5) I repeat the above steps until finally the wifi connection shows contacted and I can use it to transfer images which takes VERY long for 5ghz wifi, or for a remote control.
Its not just plug and play. It’s giving me a run for it every time.
Maybe I’m doing my steps wrong. Feel free to correct me![]()
Here you go. It’s the same for any Nikon camera that can utilize SnapBridge. If you’re unable to make a connection after following these steps, let me know but these are pretty foolproof.Judging by these responses, It appears not to be an issue withAndroid. Any iPhone users out there ?

A Complete Guide to Using Snapbridge
This is a quick, but comprehensive ‘how to’ guide for using Nikon Snapbridge with your smart device.nikonschool.co.uk
I have this question too. I want the geotagging, but not the images automatically sent to my iPhone, which then uploads them to iCloud where I am paying far too much for storage, on top of LR cloud storage.I use it for geo-tagging. The only issue I've run into is that Snapbridge wants to add the image (at a lower resolution) to the Snapbridge cloud (and on to my phone where the app is) where it is difficult to do bulk deletes. My workaround is to connect my phone to my computer and use Image Capture to delete the Snapbridge images. Is there a way to get the geotagging to work while not transferring the image to the app on the phone?
If you are on a Mac you can attach your phone to your computer (using phone charging cord + USB connector) and then open Image Capture. Select the images you want to delete and then delete them. I haven't tried this on Windows with File Explorer so don't know what the Windows solution might be. I have spent a fair amount of time looking for deletion options in Snapbridte itself and as far as I can see, it's only possible to delete one image at a time. Providing a select-all option would be welcome.I have this question too. Have you found a way to get geotagging embedded into the images on your memory card while shooting, independently of the SnapBridge app? I miss the embedded gps of my old Sony Alpha65. I think this is the new way of getting people to pay for cloud storage, as I see that the Sony Alpha 1 doesn’t have the gps in camera, either. If you are on a Mac you can attach your phone to your computer (using phone charging cord + USB connector) and then open Image Capture. When I use Snapbridge with my Nikon Z6ii, with a Bluetooth connection established, Autolink turned on, and Clocks and Location Data (set to High precision) turned on, I get lat/long coordinates in my camera photos. I verified this in Playback mode by cycling through the display modes (Display button). I can also see the lat/long coordinates in LR after Import. What's new and different is that Snapbridge doesn't seem to be importing the photos to my phone (I have download turned off). Maybe Nikon removed the download requirement. I did get a message in Snapbridge that there are some problems with the most recent versions of IOS but Snapbridge seems to work fine for my purposes now. Not having to delete the phone downloads removes a major headache.Have you found a way to get geotagging embedded into the images on your memory card while shooting, independently of the SnapBridge app? I will have to try this with my D7500 and D500. No all Nikon cameras are compatible with Snapbridge but yours are: https://nikonimglib.com/snbr/onlinehelp/en/80_information_01.htmlI will have to try this with my D7500 and D500. Thanks for the specifics!
I have them paired for the location data, which I want, but prefer to import images via memory card reader, which I have, so I can select only my best photos. Does turning off download still leave the location data in each image? No all Nikon cameras are compatible with Snapbridge but yours are: https://nikonimglib.com/snbr/onlinehelp/en/80_information_01.html
I'll be honest, the Bluetooth pairing instructions are good but there was one snag (maybe requiring something in iPhone settings) that befuddled me until I stumbled on the answer. Given the number of phone variants and camera's, I'll give Nikon a mulligan for not calling out my issue. You just have to be patient and persistent. The good news is that once you've gotten through pairing, it works every time you turn your camera on (auto-pairing, auto-location-sync). If you don't need the location info, you might want to turn off Snapbridge. It will drain your battery. Last, I don't use the WIFI option because it turns off other WIFI access on the phone while your camera is on. Not desirable from my point of view. Others may feel differently on this issue.
See my post above. The images SB downloads are not the same quality as on your camera card. Okay, I see now. You have addressed my dilemma. Thanks for sticking with me to go through the steps - this should resolve my problems.See my post above. The images SB downloads are not the same quality as on your camera card. Not useful for me.
