I have really stopped buying anything anymore as I find my interest and enthusiasm for traveling & photography dwindling. But my go-to store when I want something major has been Competitive Cameras in Dallas, TX.

Rich. I live close enough to B&H that I've been there many times. Let me know if you ever plan on coming to NYC and I'll be happy to give the a tour of B&H. Fascinating store to walk through.
I do use Alllen's for most of my camera equipment. While I've been there a few times, I do almost all of my ordering over the phone. For any item that they have in stock, I'll receive it the next day. And for equipment that only B&H carries, I will generally order on line. That will reach me within 48 hours.
