Two Bald Eagles have been working on their nest since last year when the took over a Red-tailed Hawks nest. The nest is on the opposite side of the Boise River from the popular Behtine Church River Trail. We hope that people observe from the trail side of the river and do not try to intrude on the nest on the opposite side.
This one headed out straight at me to get a branch and then brought it back across the river installed it and headed out again. The nest is in the background in the first image. Just three of many images from that short encounter. The location is about a 15 minute walk from my front door and I see it as I am out birding so do not tarry long as I am busy doing my ebird thing and searching for all the birds I can find and try and photograph. There were Ruby-crowned Kinglets that showed up next a real change in size and habitat.
