Banff, Lake Louise : JULY 25, 2024 SMOKE UPDATE

Been in Canmore, Banff, and Lake Louise for a week during which the smoke has gotten progressively worse. This morning can’t see the mountains from middle of Canmore. This article explains why.
Luckily was here once before to appreciate the beauty without smoke. Very sad.

It’s terrible what’s going on in jasper right now, like many I’ve spent some time there and it’s pretty sad seeing it like this, feel for the wildlife definitely

Saw a report this AM that half of the buildings in Jasper have burned…so a long recovery for them and a considerable tourism hit first from the burned areas and secondly from few facilities to eat or get supplies and no other near towns.
