With the VR version just don't accidently bump the lens firmly while VR is working, its a major repair job to unlock the VR same on the 70-200 FL

Thank you all for your feedback. After reviewing my photos from the last 3 trips I noticed:
- 70% of my travel photos were taken in the range 16 - 35mm
- 28% were made in the 70-200mm range and
- only 2% were made in the 35-70mm range.

I decided to take my 16-35mm and 70-200mm F4 zooms along with my lightweight 50 F1.8 for low light situation. Together with the D850 that puts me at a weight of 3 kg / 6.6 lb). I realized with the D850 I have an added bonus of being able to crop as well, extending the reach of each lens.

I am however contemplating buying a 85mm G F1.8 as well, to make the 16-35mm + 85mm my ultra light travel kit in the future. This will double as a dedicated Portrait lens for a very reasonable price. What do you guys think? I loved using my 50 mm on my D7500 for portraits, but I find it too wide on my D850.

Sorted 👍. Thats me exactly. I'm on the verge of selling my 24-70 or/and my 105 and getting a fast 85 too. Then I've got 15-24. 85. 70-200. How's that 85 for macro? I'll check.
